Is the 7D good?
The Canon 7D mark ii autofocus system is still excellent at tracking subjects. Far better, in fact, than most current mirrorless systems. Or indeed, most dslr systems. The 7D autofocus is still first class and that is one of the the most important features of a wildlife or bird photography body.

As video camera yes,its heavy outdated ,but for its main purpose-photography this camera is just fine. While there are several more modern cameras the 7d is still a very viable and useful option for those who might not have the budget for the latest equipment but still want great quality pictures.

Not professional but have had people use my stuff on their websites – so for my needs the 7D works well – Oh, and if like me you have poor dexterity you’ll find the raised buttons really helpful even when wearing gloves.

Why is the Canon 7D so bad at shooting video?
In the video programmed exposure mode, the Canon 7D seems to default to using a very slow shutter speed, even when given plenty of light to work with. This is pretty much a worst-case example, although it’s at 30 fps vs 24 fps, which seemed to do a bit worse yet with motion.
Is 7d autofocus really that good?
It seems 7D AF is not consistent although manual focus gives considerably crisp and sharp image. I’m a wheelchair user and have gone for the 7D because of the increase in range when using a shorter lens over full frame which means though I often cannot get close I often achieve a useable image.
